Good Day!!!

It's a great day, isn't it? It is for me. My mom got up this morning ready to get out of the house for the first time since undergoing two brain surgery's in November. I believe that she is getting her strong will back...I don't know if that is good or bad, hummmmm. This could get very interesting for me, huh? My sister in law and I are going to venture out with her to shop for a new pair of pants; notice that I said (a) meaning one, pair of pants. She has lost a lot of weight and her pants now make her feel big, so we will oblige her today by taking her shopping. Please pray for us!!!!

I have really enjoyed these next set of pictures that I will share with you. My mom had purchased our family a Wii for Christmas. We set the gift out on the table and told the kids to open it together since it was for all of us...mom and dad too. Can you imagine what they thought it is was...look how enthused they look.

At the slight peek of what it was, look how their expressions changed...I love it. Forget the gifts from Santa, an Ipod for the two younger ones and Punching bag for my oldest...it was, "get out of our way...let's get it hooked up dad!"

Oh, they were so sweet to let sissy go ahead and open it the rest of the way. They didn't even notice the other games with it or controls...just, "let's get it hooked up".

I must say that we have had a blast with it. I will try to get some pictures of us playing it when the opportunity comes my way.

In this picture my mom is receiving a gift from Micah, a picture of the two of them together two days before the first seizure. This is her inspiration to get back to good health again.

Our gifts from our children, Mike and I, and gifts to each other, came from a very loving and giving family this year. Some friends of ours went out and purchase gifts for our family and had them wrapped and under tree before we got home from the hospital. Even decorated my house...how cool is that?

This Christmas has been very different...laying down our pride and letting people help us, cherishing every moment with our family not knowing if it could be the last...not just because of cancer but because of life in general. We should treasure each day with family and friends. I think that that is what I am convicted of the most...just enjoy! Things don't have to be perfect, my house may never be cleaned again, but someday, I will have all the time in the world. So for now, I will spend my time playing Wii with my kids and hubby and set at the table with mom and a cup of coffee or some of Deb's hot cocoa and just enjoy talking.

I don't know what the new year holds for us, but what I do know is this; "For I know the plans I have for you,declares the Lord, plans to prosper you not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

I know that my God is good and all things work for His glory and purpose and I will hold that thought near my heart throughout this next year while battling cancer with mom and Michaels dad. May God bless you all this New Year.

The long awaited scrapbook workshop

It did not turn out as I had thought that it would...two had to decline at the last minute due to the lost of our worship pastors' father's funeral and rightfully so. Then there was another cancellation at the last minute which was iffy any way, so only two joined me. Can I just tell you that God knew exactly what I needed? These two women taught me more in the seven hours they were here than I could have ever learned anywhere else. No, it did not take them seven hours to do all the pages because they were whipping them out right and left. I could not keep up...but I had the opportunity to show them so many techniques to incorporate with their pages.

I am new to the scrap-booking part of my business and they are ol' pros!!! I don't think that I finished one page because I was so into watching them and making myself available to answer questions. Upon learning how to be put things together on pages I also had the opportunity to fine tune my skills on card making...which you know that I love. I only wish that I would have taken pictures of their cards. Guess what? The Loads of Love was their favorite stamp set too.

In down loading these pictures I realized that I did not take pictures of all of the pages made...darn. They each made eight pages. Oh well, maybe next time.

"I wish" pages and more pictures from our trip

Gettin' ready for October 11th. Here are some of the pages that I came up with to help people who have never scrapbooked before. I am having a blast with the Simply Scrappin' kits, they are easy and supply everything but the pictures and adhesives. What more could you ask for? Let me know what you think.

I tried to do the pages with and without pictures for you to get an idea of what to expect if you were not an avid scrapper. If you have any questions let me know and I will try to help.

I didn't know that cameras automatically made the pictures black and white...wow. Micah took a picture of me and Michael riding back from the Holy Land tour.

We are actually going 55mph down the highway when this last picture was taken. Don't ask me why...it was a stupid moment. Please don't try this, although I do like the picture.

Christmas is right around the corner.

Christmas is right around the corner and Lynn has been very busy making her co-workers a Christmas ornament. She made a 3-d version using her Cricut "doodle charms" cartridge. She made 3 snowmen and put them together with pop dots. Then tied a ribbon around the neck. Put snowflakes on the inside scallop as well as the outside clear piece. The snowmen are 1-1/2" and the inside circle is 2" and the scallop is 1-7/8" - the possibilities are endless since the little cups are about 3/4" - 1" thick - kind of a shadowbox effect. Aren't the adorable?

Tonight we had the privilege of serving a special family in our lives...the McPherson's. Steve's mom is in the hospital and his children were bored staying in the waiting room, so we took them to Cracker Barrel. They had fun playing checkers and the peg board game. Please pray for this special family as Steve's mom has cancer.
