Stampin' fun last night

Joann held her first workshop and did a great job. We made cards and a book mark for Mother's Day or whatever you need a book mark for. Workshops are great for stress release...meeting new people...and learning a new art to share with others. If you are reading this and have never been to a workshop ... try it, I don't think you will regret it. Here are a few pictures of those present last night...

The long awaited scrapbook workshop

It did not turn out as I had thought that it would...two had to decline at the last minute due to the lost of our worship pastors' father's funeral and rightfully so. Then there was another cancellation at the last minute which was iffy any way, so only two joined me. Can I just tell you that God knew exactly what I needed? These two women taught me more in the seven hours they were here than I could have ever learned anywhere else. No, it did not take them seven hours to do all the pages because they were whipping them out right and left. I could not keep up...but I had the opportunity to show them so many techniques to incorporate with their pages.
I am new to the scrap-booking part of my business and they are ol' pros!!! I don't think that I finished one page because I was so into watching them and making myself available to answer questions. Upon learning how to be put things together on pages I also had the opportunity to fine tune my skills on card making...which you know that I love. I only wish that I would have taken pictures of their cards. Guess what? The Loads of Love was their favorite stamp set too.

So here goes...pictures of their work.
Sherri and Jamie

In down loading these pictures I realized that I did not take pictures of all of the pages made...darn. They each made eight pages. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have an extra "I Wish" Simply Scrappin' kits left if you would like to purchase one for $23.81. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks Sherri and Jamie for a great day and for teaching me so much. I look forward to more scrap time with you.

Sock Monkey, hands down

Last night was a blast. Vickie had her workshop last night in my studio area. We made three cards one of which I can not show you up close until I get some new batteries, but you can see it in one of the pictures below. Here are some photos of last night workshop.

Jenny is using her breath to keep the ink on her stamp moist because it took her an hour to color her image. No, not really, we were just giving her a hard time. She painted her stamp with great caution and her acetate card was beautiful. Great job, Jenny.

The ladies held up their favorite card. I think the Sock Monkey won. It is a very versatile stamp set that can be used for many occasions. Oh, look, Amy is holding up the other card. The blue one to the far right of this picture. We made a monogram card. Amy loved hers so much that she declared to everyone that she was framing hers. You go Amy.

Here is a group picture of our Sock Monkeys. Look at the originality of each card. Not one is the same. I can't wait to get all of the accessory pieces that goes with this stamp set. It is a lot like Loads of Love, has a few accessories but there are many more in a different stamp set.

Jenny won the TomBow adhesive giveaway and Lynn won the Three card give away. Thanks ladies for a great time last night. I have many openings for August so if you would like to have a workshop, whether it be for cards or scrapbook pages, let me know. I am in the process of working up a workshop for a Back to School Scrapbook work shop for next week. More details later today.

Have a blessed day in the Lord, Lisa

Wow, what a full day

Back to school workshop was more fun than work. Only two showed up but we had fun all the same...maybe a little too much. Check Lynn out sporting the bows we made tonight. Vickie came armed and ready to teach us a thing or two. She instructed us on how to make these bows after attending Dana Bakers Christmas in July workshop on Saturday. Aren't they cute? Can't wait to use it this Christmas.

These are the projects that we made tonight.

I also wanted to show you the variation of each card because each person had a
different idea for their card.
So I said bye bye to the girls and got on my bottom and clued in the remaining pieces of the hardwood down.

Hallelujah...It Is Finished!!!!

Tomorrow we sand down the trim and repaint. No more remodeling for a while.

I have to rest up for school...oh yeah, did I tell you that I have to sub the first two weeks of school. Who misses the first week of school? Well, whatever reason, I am sure that it is a good one. Ta Ta for now. Lisa

Those crazy girls

Yes, they came back...this time not as dogs but as ???????. They had ICE bags on their heads...anything to get attention. At first Micah did not want her picture taken with the girls but she chilled out a little and got in this one...so did Fred, which made her very mad!!! Now for my projects.Vickie K. and I made this card at a workshop a few weeks ago.

Remember this one? The bag a lope. Yes, we made these bags out of envelopes. I cut a half moon hole in the middle...filled it up with peanuts...tied a bow around the top and put a tag on it. I am still waiting to see how you used yours. I have another one I am filling up with KISSES when Joshua gets back from WalMart with them. They are great little "thank you" or "thinking of you" gifts. This project cost a whopping $1.50 to make. That is everything included, yes the nuts too, based on making 100 of them.

I worked on this card today while the girls were here visiting Micah. I had to do something to keep my sanity!!! It is simple but cute...I have massed produced this one for the Craft Fair in November.

Before I forget, this is the new colors coming out in the new Idea Book "In Color" selection. What do you thing? I am very pleased.

Ta Ta for now...thanks for visiting. Lisa

Excitement

How exciting it is when you have a new person come along side of you and gets excited about the same thing that creates joy in your life...Vickie...come on down...you are the next one to be spot lighted on my blog. I am going to share a couple of cards with you that Vickie has made. She is new to the craft of card making, so her excitement is igniting a new excitement in me to get going and make some cards.

Aren't these good? Let her know if you get a chance. I am only showing you a couple...I have down loaded several to share at a later day also.

Here are a few that I made yesterday at a workshop...

I am very grateful to have the privilege of getting to make these cards for people. It is a love that the Lord has carved very deep into my soul to encourage others through words of encouragement.
