Stamp Camp #2

Another one under my belt and I learn something new each time. Joann, Ginger, Lisa, Vickie, and Misty joined me tonight with a packed schedule to achieve. I don't know what's more enjoyable; stampin' one on one or just hangin' out with friends and stamp. I love it all. Here are a few photos of our hard work...enjoy.

Finally...

I didn't think I was ever going to have a few moments to myself to blog today. I love sending cards out to people that sign a prayer card at church, to let them know that someone really does pray for them. Today I had to make some new ones because my store bought ones are all gone, yeah!!!! These are very simple, yet very appropraite for those I may not know.

All products used for these projects are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted. This stamp set is called "For a Friend", found on page 21 of your Spring/Summer Catalog. This stamp set has 6 stampsin the set and is a Hostess gift for those who have a workshop of $150.00 or more. Check out www.stampinup.com to see the other stamps available.I recieved a tutorial this week on how to make these BAG0LOPES. They are mini gift bags made from envelopes. Lots of fun, great for gift cards, money, candies...use your imagination. I only stamped one side of the bag on the right so that you could see that it was an actual envelope. We will be making these at the Stamp Camp this Friday at my house.

Cont. Stamp Camp Prep

Still getting ready for that big Stamp Camp coming up next week. I love the challenges that Stampin' Up! gives it's demonstrators. I feel like blah today and I still had fun doing these projects. If anyone from SU! reads this blog...Thanks for all the ideas and support that you give to your demonstrators.

This is just a trial card, but similar to one that I will be demonstrating at our Stamp Camp. This technique is called the Iris Fold. A little time consuming, but gives you a neat dimensional perspective. I hope to have another one made later today, one that we will actually be making. I hope this peaks your interest in signing up for the camp.Very simple card, again, trial card...many mistakes, like not stamping the motifs before applying card stock to card...oh well...live and learn. Fun card to make, many layers are the hoppin' thing right now...so we will layer the cards up.

Gettin' ready for "Stamp Camp"

It is so funny, I am still just like a little kid when I get my shipment in from Stampin UP!. I tear into the box, already knowing what's inside, but I just can't help myself. I am getting ready for a stamp camp coming up this next week. We will focus on a lot of water coloring and cutting...I have a few examples of what we will be making and I hope to have more to show tomorrow.

I've got the blahs today. I feel much better, but now I have two children home sick too. It was inevitable wasn't it? No ballgames today.

I want to share a nugget of wisdom that I gained in my Bible study this morning. I am doing a Beth Moore Bible study called Stepping Up. I had to review two passages, Psalm 125:1 and Psalm 30:6-7. Here is the insight between the two verses that Beth shares with me: I realized that in my sense of security in the Lord it's not always in Him, rather in the blessings that He gives me. Example, my security more often than not, comes from my gifts, talent, loved ones, church family, consistent victory , and passion for His Word. I have grown secure in the favor God has shown me. Therefore, it is not in God, Himself, and when the trials come, and are they ever coming, if I don't change my mindset and find my security in God Almighty, I will crumble in the journey of trials. That scares me. Today is a soul searching, cleansing day for me. Will you please pray for me. I pray daily that the Lord will convict me and I praise Him that He does and He hasn't given up on me. He doesn't give up on you either. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved if you don't already know Him. You will never regret it. He never leaves you, you are never alone. Let me know if I can help you through this process.

I don't have a new card to show you but I am placing one on the blog from a few months past that my daughter and I did at a stamp camp using the bleaching technique, I hope you enjoy. Oh, by the way, it will also be the featured card in my next stamp camp. The stamp set and technique, anyway.

The same technique will be done on the card at the stamp camp but the layout will be different. Let me know what you think.

Also as a reminder, if anyone actually reads this, I will be having a stamp a stack on Feb. 18th at my house. I need you to RSVP if you think you might attend. The workshop will cost $6.00 and you make and take 5 cards all the same or with five different occasion sayings. We will begin at 6:30.

Stamp Camp 2-1-08

I finally had my first stamp camp and boy, was it entertaining. I am giving you a sneak peak of a few of the camera shots taken that night. We ate well and stamped fast and furious. This was Debs first time to stamp and of course she kept us laughing, as always.

Lisa A. took her frustrations out on Gingers corner punch...you had to be there. It would not cooperate with her. And yes, she bought her another one. Oh, should I mention here that Stampin' Up sells corner punches that are strong and durable...no the picture you are seeing is not a Stampin' Up punch.
