Dallas tourney...brought home the Bronze

While in Dallas we spent a good part of the time in our room...guess what I did? You guessed it. I did not have many supplies so I wanted to challenge my self to see what I could come up with...I kinda like it...it is very simple too.

Recipe:

Stamp set - Baroque Motifs set of six for $25.95 on page 120,

Card Stock - Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Versa Mark, Basic Black

Now I have added a Rhinestone Brad to the center motif, that helped the card have a little bling, bling, to it.

I made this scrap page for my dads wife, Vicky. The pictures are of my sweet little nieces on Halloween two years ago. I used the Creepy Crawly Designer Paper from the Fall-Winter collection 2007, a little foil for the basket and trim around the Pumpkin Pie card stock that she will use to journal on. I also used Whisper White for the ghost and Chocolate Chip for the basket.

Now for the Volleyball...

Here it is!!! We are very proud of this. Those girls played hard...and was third out of 48 teams across the US.

Each tournament one team member is allowed to bring home the trophy or plaque that the coaches usually get...guess who got it this time...Yep, my baby.

Rachel, Jade, and Micah sharing some down time...I think Rachel is showing pictures of her boyfriend...
Rachel, Jade, and Micah stopped for a short moment to smile...
Savannah and her boyfriend acting out...you may be asking, "how she did that with her hair?"...she used a Propel bottle, pulled her hair up around it and finished it off with a ponytail holder...Jeff is about to fall out of his chair laughing. You should have seen the looks. I think that the other teams playing were struggling playing due to trying to figure out what they were doing...it was hilarious.
Savannah and Micah blocking the ball...
Check out this church by the Dallas Convention Center...wow...it was breath taking. While in Dallas, my mothers sister, Aunt Linda, came to watch Micah play ball although she never made it...her luggage was lost...so we spent some time in the DFA airport seeking luggage. Some day I will have to tell you how I almost lost my life getting there.

Until later, happy stampin'.

Loved the card...made a page

I have enjoyed the quilted card that I made yesterday so much that I thought I would attempt to make a scrap page with the same concept. What do you think? This page is made with all scraps...with an exception to the Tempting Turquoise sheet on bottom.
Recipe for this page using Stampin' Up products only:
Paper: Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper on page 169, Bold Bright-Tempting Turquoise, In Color-Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White
Squares are made with the 3/4" square punch
The only difficult thing about this page is the placement of the squares...I used a ruler to help me.

Don't know what this is about...Fred, Micah, and Abby were getting along so well that I had to take a picture to remind them and me of this moment. Andrew is sporting his basketball uniform ...I remember wearing those long socks too, what, 25 years ago...while Micah is wearing the new boxers that she made herself...she loves to sew. Abby is wondering "what in the world is in those size 10 shoes"? They had fun today playing in the snow and shooting water balloons with a sling shot. Today has been great!!! God Bless!

Easter page

I was challenged to do an Easter page for a group of teachers that I will have the privilege of meeting with this next week. I have not put the pictures on yet because I can not find them...go figure. If you saw my house right now you would know what I am talking about.
Here is the recipe for the layout...
Paper: Creative License Simply Scrappin' from the Fall and Winter catty of 07 (retired); Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, and Pumpkin Pie
Stamp set: A Good Egg
Ink: Versa Mark on the middle of the layout and on the picture frame; Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun
Technique: Embossed the decor on egg with clear embossing powder
Embellishments: Orange button out of my button box
Journal Pen: Basic Black
Highlighted items are Stampin' Up!
The strips of paper are 1"x12"
Let me know what you think...is it a keeper?
Until next time,
Lisa

A Good Egg

It's almost here...Easter!!! Can you believe how fast this year is already past? I have no kiddos in the house tonight so I thought I would go to bed early, 7:30...well, at 9:00 I get a call on my cell phone from my son checking in, now I can't go back to sleep...so I made a card.
Stamp set: A Good Egg $20.95 on page 30 of Spring/Summer catty
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie used with a blender pen to color in image, Basic Black
Embellishment: Ribbon from Wal-Mart...I ran out of the good stuff, but this works.
Technique on egg shell: Cracked glass technique
Each square is <-3/4"-> square Punch (20 squares)
I cased this card off of Dana Baker who used the quilt pattern with the Embrace Life stamp set on page 84, $23.95. I wish that I had a picture of it...it was beautiful.
Off now to make a Scrapbook page for a workshop at the school for the teachers...I love my job!

Reconstruction has begun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything was pulled out of the basement last night. This is so wild, sometimes I wonder if I am losing my mind. The reconstruction in the office starts tomorrow...if you thought I was unorganized before, you don't even want to come to my house for a while. They are now tearing off the sheet rock. Any suggestions on the color of paint that should be used. Oh, and they broke my marble vanity in the bathroom, I guess that is going to be replaced too. So many decisions.
I will keep updating with pictures as they go. Service Pro will be here today too, they will clean everything from the ceiling to the floor and even sterilize my basement. Wow!!! I don't know that it has ever been that clean. Looking forward to seeing the outcome.

Tammy's workshop

I always forget to get my camera out until the very end, therefore, not many pictures to show you today...

The supplies given to each person, their choice of color scheme...

We used 12x12 Bold Brights card stock

Versa Marked the pages with the pad print

Went around the edges with the a darker color in the same Bold Bright family

6x6 Square edged in same or darker color,

5 1/2 x 4 1/4 rectangle edged in same or darker color
2 Basic black strips and 2 coordinating color strip for journals.

Tammy made her page into a Halloween themed page by adding a moon made with the 1 1/4" circle punch and bats made using the tag punch. Tammy later added another bat at the bottom of the page as a filler...to cute.

Debi loves pok-a-dots so she added random circles using the 1 1/4" circle punch and the 3/4" circle punch everywhere...is this page adorable or what?

Great job girls, I love them!!!!

Next workshop here at my house is Monday night with Vicki B.'s small group, come and join us.

Sunday, March 9th, Debi will be hosting another workshop here at my house at 2:00. Light snacks will be provided and we will do a scrapbook page and one card. Please feel free to come and join us. RSVP Debi Clark @ dndclark97@yahoo.com, or me at mtarry@grnco.net, if you are interested in attending.
