New cards,yaaaaaaa

I know, where have I been. I just don't have time to blog like I use to; or maybe I made time for it then and not now. Who knows. Here's some cards made by some friends of mine that I would like to showcase this weekend.

I get so excited when I am actually the recipient of a card that is handmade. This card is made by Misty. Check out the different techniques used...dry embossing and embossing. Good job Misty and thank you for sending it...it made my day.

This card was made by Lynn, She too used embossing for the wording but guess what the leaves are...buttons. Yes, buttons. She used wire pliers to cut off the part that you thread and adhered them to the card. Isn't it pretty? Nice...Lynn, thanks for sharing.

I love these playful cards. These stamp set is in the Fall/Winter Catalog, under Holiday Lineup on page 36. On both cards she used the water color pencils to shade her pictures.

This stamp set is also in the catty on page 42...Baby Jesus is Born. Lisa A.does a great job with her cards and I am very thankful that she shares her ideas with me. Ta ta for now...off to do a calendar workshop. Hope to have more pictures for you tomorrow.

Leadership Paragould

Kids will do anything to get out of school these days, but this time Micah's reason was legit. She has been asked to be apart of Youth Leadership Paragould. It is a group of people that gather monthly and develop leadership skills and work on trust and team work as well as gain knowledge of what our friendly city of Paragould if founded on. You have to be nominated by someone who has seen, up close, your leadership skills. They have not told us first hand who it was that nominated her along with three other students from her school in the tenth grade, but we are very grateful.
She was very nervous today to go to the Leadership luncheon where she will socialize with other youth from other schools and the adult members of this years Leadership team. A week from today she will be going out to an area in Walcott where her and her peers will be doing a ropes course to encourage team work. She is very excited.
The pictures are of her getting ready this morning. She is beautiful even when she is brushing her teeth...I know, she's mine, but you would think the same of your child.

I am going to have to call on some of my buddies that are in the business world to go shopping with us because she has to have a pant suit and business attire for a lot of her monthly meetings. We don't usually dress up for anything other than church, so the closet is bare in that section. So girls be ready for my call. I really am looking forward to the growth that we will see in Micah through this process.

Have fun baby and YOU GO GIRL!

The long awaited scrapbook workshop

It did not turn out as I had thought that it would...two had to decline at the last minute due to the lost of our worship pastors' father's funeral and rightfully so. Then there was another cancellation at the last minute which was iffy any way, so only two joined me. Can I just tell you that God knew exactly what I needed? These two women taught me more in the seven hours they were here than I could have ever learned anywhere else. No, it did not take them seven hours to do all the pages because they were whipping them out right and left. I could not keep up...but I had the opportunity to show them so many techniques to incorporate with their pages.
I am new to the scrap-booking part of my business and they are ol' pros!!! I don't think that I finished one page because I was so into watching them and making myself available to answer questions. Upon learning how to be put things together on pages I also had the opportunity to fine tune my skills on card making...which you know that I love. I only wish that I would have taken pictures of their cards. Guess what? The Loads of Love was their favorite stamp set too.

So here goes...pictures of their work.
Sherri and Jamie

In down loading these pictures I realized that I did not take pictures of all of the pages made...darn. They each made eight pages. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have an extra "I Wish" Simply Scrappin' kits left if you would like to purchase one for $23.81. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks Sherri and Jamie for a great day and for teaching me so much. I look forward to more scrap time with you.

First things first...

Homecoming was a blast not only for Joshua but for all of us. Micah and Andrew got a glimpse into what they are to expect. Andrew fit in perfectly with the seniors and where ever they went he wasn't far behind. They welcomed him and he entertained them. Here are some pictures of the senior breakfast at Tyler's house...Joshua and Kasey arriving at the breakfast after a long night of dancing...

Ann Marie and Ashley getting chocolate brownies...where does brownies fit into breakfast? I thought that was a no-no.

My buddy...Vicky. We ran around some as teenagers and played ball against each other and now we are serving our kids together. Isn't it wild how life comes full circle?

Kyle and his pizza...My momma never let me have pizza either for breakfast. I guess at 12:30 in the morning there are no rules especially when you have been dancing the last three hours and your starving.Queen Elisa is in the green filling her plate as well before getting off of her tired feet.

Finally...

Jon, Rachel, Jane and Fred...
Not many pictures because they were scattered throughout the place but mainly at the bonfire down the drive. I was stationed with the food and Michael with the kids by the fire so there are no fire pictures.

Homecoming '08

Aren't they handsome...Kyle and Joshua looked great today at the homecoming...although they were not happy that I was snapping another picture.
Here they ask their other bud...Big E to come and join them.

Joshua and Chasity Biggs...the one that he escorted, drove off to the parade of maids today in this golf cart. They drove around the football field twice to wave at all of the students. Chas and the little Harris girl was holding on was holding on for her life.
Seth, Joey, Kyle and Joshua waiting for their maids to get to the Freeman house where pictures were taken...it was hot and they were miserable...thus no smiles. Joshua, Kyle, Joey and Chandler are checking out the senior skit on our camcorder.
Don't ask because I cannot give you an answer. A mom asked to get all of thier pictures together and they turned around and started pointing. This must be a common practice with these guys because they did the same thing at last years prom.

Chas and Josh

Ok, you would have had to been there to appreciate this picture. I told Joshua that I wanted a "not so serious picture" and to Chasity's surprise and mine and her mothers, he goes over and picks her up. I nearly choked on my Mt. Dew in fear of him dropping her.

Now that we are all calmed down...we take the picture. Just setting here looking at these pictures I can not help but laugh...that was so out of Joshua's character. He is usually very reserved...well not today, out of his shell he came.

Now check this one out for "not so serious"...

Queen, Alisa Diggs and Joshua. They have been buds for a long time and this was a precious moment for them to share...

Then she yells..."Josh, pick me up too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" So he obliged.

Kyle and his maid...
Man, those boys thought they were something...and so did I. They will have their Senior pictures made together Monday...I can't wait. It will be at their favorite fishin' hole...Dr. Crawford's, with Freida Davault taking the pictures. Yes, I will show them as soon as I can. Joshua and Kaitlyn, another precious friend. This was so funny...Joshua was caught off guard...isn't this picture priceless. Robin and I will have to get a big one of this.

Out of no where, there were chants echoing throughout the yard, "hairy Tarry, hairy Tarry. Again, he had us laughing, hysterically and Chas too. She was loving it.

And here is the whole gang together.

Oh, I cannot forget this picture...Big E and Luke saying good bye to me.

Now, off to the Senior breakfast...Mike and I will have a late night...yes, so that I can take more pictures I will be there, but only for a little while.

There are so many more pictures...so I will stop here. Thanks for taking the time to look.
