Easter 2011

Lot's was going on this Easter; Celebrating our risen Savior was great with our church family this morning then spending time with family and friends. Day full of fun and activities and I would love to share some of the high lights with you.

It's been a long time

It's been a year and a half since I last blogging and I had to call a friend to remember how to log on. So much has changed especially with my children. I have some photo's since my last post to share.

Micah and Sandra, her Russian best friend, that we miss so much. Sandra spent a year in America and attended school with Micah. They were volleyball buddies. They enjoyed their Jr. Prom at the Community Center.

Darlene, Micah and myself took Sandra to Graceland. Come to find out Elvis still lives in Russia and is loved very much.

I am preparing to go on a trip with some friends this summer and I am so excited. I am going to share pictures from our previous trip last summer to the Smokey Mountains.

This year we are going on an adventure to Arizona and California. I can't wait.

Senior Night projects

Well, we all know how proud of my babies that I am.  Micah made this momma very proud this week.  We had nine senior volleyball players that were going to play their last game on the home court this week.  Micah and Emily made posters and scrapbooks for the nine seniors...with a little help from mom of course.

They cut circles out of posters board, drew a volleyball and their names on each.

Then we used a SU! tool called the Color Spritzer Tool (#107066, $12.95) and sprayed their names to give it a groovy look.  They turned out precious and the girls loved them.

Now a little game action.  Micah had lost her groove for a few games but Thursday night she got it back.  I lost count on the Kills.

Coaches Darline and Audra were very appreciative of Micah and Emily's work to make Senior Night a success and so was I.

After the game the Juniors posed for a snapshot.  The girls will miss our foriegn exchange student, Shondra when she leaves. 

Very exasperating week getting it all done, but we did it.  Good job girls.

Lisa A's Christmas workshop

Good Morning...I pray that all is well with you today.  I would love to show you the projects that were made at Lisa A.'s workshop last night.  Low in numbers but great in fun.

The point of the workshop was to show the versitility of the stampset to work on cards and scrapbook pages alike.

I have used the stampset, "Holiday Lineup", (item # 111648, $21.95).  I used one of the three stamps to boarder the bottom of the page then colored in Blush Blossom, Real Red, Garden Green, and Chocolate Chip.  Added Versa Mark presents on the back drop which did not show up on this page due to poor lighting...sorry...add flag markers and Real Red mat for middle picture and there you have it.  Simple, Simple...a child would not have had trouble doing this one.

Here I used a different stamp and made a simple card as well using Real Red, Holiday DSP, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock.  The Slit punch (item # 104388, $5.95) was used to place Real Red ribbon on front.  The Stampin' Pastels (105542, $24.95) and Blender Pens (102845, $9.95 for 3) were used in coloring the deer.  This card was a lot of fun for us.

Then of course we had a very simple card for the newbies...fold, stamp, color, glue and you have a card.  Simple but cute. 

The last stamp in the set...the snowmen.  Colored using Night of Navy, Brillant Blue, Brocade Blue, Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie markers ($3.25 ea).  Layered the card on Night of Navy and Ballet Blue.  Made a frame using the  Large Tag punch (#105934 $15.95) to cut out center and the Ticket Corner punch (#107214 $5.95) to give the framed look.  Added some Rhinestone Brads to give a little bling.

We had lots of fun at the workshop and hated that you could not make it.  If you would like to make any of these projects, whether it be one or a stack, let me know and we will set up a time to have fun.

I have been away for a while...sorry.

There are lots of stuff to catch up on I know.  I have some new pictures to share.  We had an evening of pumpkin carving on the deck with Micah, Josh, and Jess making a huge mess.  I spared you all the mess to show you these sweet pictures...Fred was at a friends so he did not participate...ahhhhhh.

We had dinner with some of our close friends and I took this sweet picture of Gabe and London.  London was reading a book to Gabe and I guess they liked what they read.

I had the best time with my baby girl at a Living Proof conference with Beth Moore this month.  It was cool just hangin' out with her and my buddies. 

This is a picture of Beth coming off the stage headed towards us.  That's the cool thing about her conferences, she gets down in the audiance and talks to us.  That was neat.

The conference was held at the FedEx Forum in Memphis and Micah found a volleyball to play with...lol.  She is a volleyball magnet.

Cruise #3

Sorry it has taken so long to post the rest of the pictures. This portion of the blog shows our excursion to Stingray Beach. We fed, held, and swam with Stingrays. It was pretty cool. It was one of the most exciting part of the trip for me.

No, it wasn't foggy, only on my camera lens.

I thought they were neat pictures so I am sharing with you.

Upon getting off the ship, we had to walk along this long boardwalk to get to the island. It had to be a mile long or even longer.

Check out how crystal clear this water is on the side of the boardwalk. Amazing!!!

After the long walk, we rested while waiting for our tour guide to meet us in the market place.

Now to Stingray beach...

Here we go...

This hut was huge! This picture doesn't do it justice. It was our information center where we were taught the do's and don'ts of Stingrays.

The first thing we did was feed them. As soon as you step into the water they come swimming at an alarming rate. It was overwhelming and scary. We were given fish to hold in our palms and the Stingrays would swim over the hand and suck the fish out of your palm. It was weird to say the least and Micah didn't want any part of it.

We were led deeper into the water where we held and pet the Stingrays and Starfish. Joshua didn't like the Starfish because it sucked on you.

This was the daddy of them all...well actually the momma of them all.

Females are much larger than the males.

The kids made a new friend while on the beach...

Isn't this view amazing. So peaceful and the breeze made you want to stay and sleep. There is another ship coming in. When we left there were three in port.

We just hung out here for a while waiting on our taxi driver to get back to pick us up.

This was a nice family time for all of us. I would do the Stingray encounter again just because of the WOW factor of being in water with a unfamilar creature. We had a blast and the joy and excitement on the kids faces was worth the price of admission.
And yes, did a little shopping too. That part was actually scarier than the Stingrays. Those people would run after you and beg you to buy their stuff.
